Growing up in New England, Mr. Nandor is one of God’s chosen people: a Red Sox fan. He lived in the town just north of Plymouth, Massachusetts until the summer preceding 12 th grade. At this time, he and his family moved to northern California and resided in a house with 13 soccer fields directly behind it. Mr. Nandor began to feel a deep calling by God for ministry during his senior year and enrolled at Biola University.
His time at Biola was a season of rapid growth personally and in his faith. While there he played soccer for five years, coached for four years at Biola and seven years at La Mirada HS, worked as a youth pastor and intern for eight years, received a bachelor’s degree in Christian Education, earned a master’s degree in Philosophy of Religion and Ethics, and most importantly met and married his wonderful wife Karen. Along with these and many other coaching and ministry duties, Mr. Nandor developed a passion for teaching the Word of God to young people in a manner which challenged them both spiritually and intellectually. This is Mr. Nandor’s 12 th year with Grace Brethren Schools. He has taught Bible to all six grade levels at the JR/SR, taught in the PE and Computer Departments, coached four different teams, and has been in administration during his time here. Currently he teaches New Testament, Theology, and Apologetics as the Bible department chair. He has also coaches youth teams through GBYS at the elementary school. Enjoyment of his relationship with God is in its 31st year now. He believes that, “in a world of evil and hopelessness, the Truth of the person of Jesus Christ is the only light.” The greatest reward in teaching, in his opinion, is when students graduate with a deep faith in Jesus and then return, having displayed their faith through their lives. His teaching style has been described as “stand-up Bible” in which he utilizes skepticism, sarcasm, cynicism, and satire to survey the veracity of the Sword of the Spirit. Mr. Nandor is blessed with a loving family. He married Karen more than 16 years ago and they are the proud parents of Hannah (8), Daniel (7), and Joseph (4). As a family, they enjoy the beach, playing soccer in the back yard, and playing games. His kids’ enjoy going to Chuck E. Cheese’s (where the family celebrates Red Sox World Series Championships and Patriot Super Bowl Victories), but Karen, for some reason, prefers Claim Jumper.
